What is UVA?
UVA is a ultraviolet with the wavelengths of 320~400nm. It has strong penetrating power and can penetrate most transparent glass and plastics. UVA can directly reach the dermis of the skin, destroy elastic fibers and collagen fibers, and tan our skin. UVA ultraviolet rays with wavelengths of 300-420nm can pass through special colored glass tubes that completely block visible light, and only emit near-ultraviolet light centered at 365nm, which can be used for ore identification, stage decoration, currency verification and other places. Application areas originated from the end of the 1990s, "upper" UVA-type equipment has been on the market. Traditionally, these LEDs have been used in applications such as forgery detection or verification (currency, driver's license, certificates, etc.) and forensics (crime scene investigation). The power output requirements of these applications are very low, and the actual wavelengths used are in the range of 390nm-420nm. At that time, lower wavelength products could not be used. Due to their long lifespan and ease of manufacturing in the market, these types of LEDs can be easily obtained from various sources and are the cheapest of all UV products. In the past few years, the "middle" UVA LED module area has grown the fastest. Most applications in this wavelength range (approximately 350nm-390nm) are for UV curing of commercial and industrial materials such as adhesives, coatings and inks. Due to improved efficiency, reduced cost of ownership and system miniaturization, LEDs have significant advantages over traditional curing technologies such as mercury or fluorescent lamps.
