LED lamps, luminaires and related definitions

1. LED Lamp -led Package (LED package): A component of one or more led wafers, including welded wire connectors or other type electrical connectors, that may have optical components, thermal, mechanical, and electrical interfaces. The device does not include a power supply and a standard lamp head.

The device cannot be connected directly to the branch circuit. -led array or module (LED array or module): A component of an LED package (component) or wafer on a printed circuit board or substrate, possibly with an optical element, an additional heat, machinery, and an electrical interface intended to be connected to the load side of the LED driver. The device does not contain a power supply and a standard lamp head.

The device cannot be connected directly to the branch circuit. -led Optical engine (LED light Engine): includes an overall combination of LED packaging (components) or LED arrays (modules), led drivers, and other photometric, thermal, mechanical and electrical components.

The device is connected directly to the branch circuit through a conventional connector that matches the LED luminaire, and the LED luminaire is designed not to use a standard lamp holder. -Non-integral LED lamps (LED lamp,non-integrated): components containing LED arrays (modules) or LED packages (components) and standard lamp heads. The device is intended to be connected to the Luminaire's led driver via a standard lamp holder.

The device cannot be connected directly to the branch circuit. -Integral LED lamps (LED lamp,integrated): An overall combination of LED packages (components) or LED arrays (modules), LED drivers, standard lamp heads, and other luminosity, thermal, mechanical and electrical components.

The device is intended to be directly connected to the branch circuit through a standardized lamp holder.

2, LED Lamps The-led luminaire (LED luminaire) is a complete lighting appliance that includes LED-based luminescent elements and matching drives, as well as light distribution components, components that fix and protect luminescent elements, and connecting appliances to branch circuit components. LED-based luminescent components may be in the form of LED packages (components), LED arrays (modules), LED light engines or LED lights.

LED Luminaires are intended to be connected directly to the branch circuit.

-Hybrid LED luminaires (Hybrid led luminaire): Lamps with LED-based luminescent elements and other types of light sources such as incandescent lamps or fluorescent lamps.

3. LED drivers

LED driver (LED driver): A device containing a power supply and led control circuit designed to work with LED packages (components), or LED arrays (modules) or LED lamps. Interpreting the above definitions related to LEDs provides a basis for us to distinguish between led and LED lamps, and in general the main difference between LED light sources and led luminaires is whether they are directly connected to branch circuits, which is a product designed not to be directly connected to branch circuits,

LED Luminaires are a product designed to be connected directly to a branch circuit. LED light engine also belongs to the LED lamp, but its characteristics are between LED lamps and integral LED lights, and the difference between the integral led lamp is that it contains a connector matching the luminaire, not a standard lamp head, and the difference with the LED luminaire is that it can not be directly connected to the branch circuit.

LED light engines can improve the maintainability of certain led luminaires due to the ability to set up light distribution functions and standardized connectors.
